Campden Tablets - Tablet form of potassium metabisulfite, used to preserve wine by preventing the growth of undesirable yeasts in must.
Approximately 110 tablets made with Sodium Metabisulfite. 1 tablet per gallon equals 30 ppm free SO2. Each tablet is about 0.5 g.
Instructions:
To sanitize must: Use 1 tablet per gallon of wine, cider, or mead. Crush and dissolve in warm water before adding to must, wait 24 hours before pitching yeast.
To dechlorinate brewing water: Add 1 crushed tablet per 20 gallons of water.
